And he knew the reality behind the images, serving on the swedish corvette Lagerbielke on the Atlantic, between England and Scandinavia.

This dramatic painting is named Steamship in trouble - Ångfartyg i nöd; or more correct title in swedish "Ångbåt i nöd".
But this title is a bit funny, en ångbåt är en ångbåt. But theese ships around the middle of the century are hybrids.
Like some electric cars of today.
